Hope

Hope, like the gleaming taper's light,
Adorns and cheers our way;
And still, as darker grows the night,
Emits a brighter ray.

  1. Such a ray of hope to see in the darkness. I wonder, though, why light has always been the symbol for hope.

  2. The light is the symbol of Christ Our Lord Who is the Light of the world. Saint John wrote that "He was the Light shining in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it." Cardinal John Henry Newman wrote, "Lead on, kindly Light." May God bless you and may His Face ever shine before you.
