To remember to forget
I have tried,
through many days and nights
To remember to forget you;
and yet it seems that it is easier
to forget to breathe than
to stop remembering you.
through many days and nights
To remember to forget you;
and yet it seems that it is easier
to forget to breathe than
to stop remembering you.

Night time
There are so many words,
But what is their meaning?
There are so many dreams,
But where are they leading?
It is said that time heals---
But what is their meaning?
There are so many dreams,
But where are they leading?
It is said that time heals---
But the wounds are still bleeding.

Somewhere you dream
Somewhere you dream of happy times,
Of laughter rippling on the wind,
And friendship's kiss, as sweet as wine
Poured out with love's own tenderness;
But shall these dreams bring warmth to you
As Autumn frost draws ever nearer,
And keep the fire within your heart
As winter's chill grows ever clearer?
Of laughter rippling on the wind,
And friendship's kiss, as sweet as wine
Poured out with love's own tenderness;
But shall these dreams bring warmth to you
As Autumn frost draws ever nearer,
And keep the fire within your heart
As winter's chill grows ever clearer?

Broken wings
You have forgotten how to fly,
And I, so far away, cannot break
The coming fall: though for your sake,
I would sooner fall myself than see you
Toppling from the heights you once had found.
Down, down, like a wishing star you fall;
And, calling, land upon the leaden ground,
A lame and humbled thing,
Your broken wings surrounding you
As the woods cry out my name.

So long ago
So long ago, and very far away,
You held me close to keep me safe and warm.
How strange that now, though Summer's in the wind,
I feel the chill that sought me on that day:
And suddenly I am cold again.
You held me close to keep me safe and warm.
How strange that now, though Summer's in the wind,
I feel the chill that sought me on that day:
And suddenly I am cold again.
